Bomber Ski, a luxury ski brand, needed a refresh for their e-commerce experience.
Role: I worked as a UX Designer at Vaudeville Ventures supporting other UX Designers and the UX Director in translating designs from web to mobile solutions for the UX. I was also responsible for market research, creative layouts, usability testing for initial kickoff to bring site to life.
Team:
UX Designers: Carolyn Chen, Darin Spicer, Sakura Verdino
Background: Redesign the Bomber Ski e-commerce platform with the luxury consumer as our target audience. This project was about skiing as a narrative and depicting high-end experience and lifestyle. User Personas

Steve is all about performance - he is willing to pay top dollar to know that he has the best gear available. Skiing is less of a vacation for him and more of an everyday lifestyle; he lives close to the slopes and averages more than 50 days a season. He wants to be faster, turn tighter, and go bigger - technical specifications of his gear interest him more than the graphic printed on the bottom.

Mia is really into fashion and designer goods - She likes to ski but is more excited about showing off this seasons’ look on the slopes and drinks at the lodge after. She views ski trips as more of a social experience, spending time with friends and making sure to hit all the photo opportunities the mountain has to offer. She values appearance over functionality, but still appreciates the quality and craftsmanship of her purchases.

Chris is an avid skier who likes to build his travel experiences around his active lifestyle. He enjoys other “lux” activities like sailing and golfing, and wants to look his best while doing it. Chris wants to ski the coolest mountains with the nicest looking gear, and is not concerned with the price.
The Solution
Using a minimalist chic approach to convey the alpine lifestyle in an elegant and classic manner that focuses on high end. Using bold typography, information hierarchy, white as imagery, and animation, we reinvented Bomber Ski’s traditional e-commerce page to an immersive digital experience that depicts skiing as a elevated lifestyle and appealing community with a rich backstory and authentic craftsmanship.
We went through 3 different site design iterations at the client’s request, as well as expert opinions that offered us best-practice recommendations and referred back to our research and gathered materials without the process. The site went through a lot of revamps, ultimately the client was very pleased with the finished project.
